I'm a Greek citizen living in Germany.I'm amazed from the so many interpetations that coming from human speculation or imagination!!
The Word of God ,The Bible is the Only STANDART with which someone can try to explain ,evaluate or understand any difficult passage.
The number of the beast (anyway it's not only the number,but the name or the sign of it!!),it's a such a misinterprented issue that most of the peopleare so confused,so that they give up the effort to study dilligently the topic.
But God in His Mercy and Love has taken care so the Truth will shine in the spiritual darkness as had this already happened in the past .(Take a look in the O.T)
The issue of the Antichrist & in expanse with the Number of the Beast is something that has to be understood according to what the Bible has to say,and not the private interpretation of each one of us!!
The so of much importance topic of the Number of the Beast has to be examined under the microscope of the Word of God and nothing else!!
For example we have to ask what the Bible means in prophecy when is talking about a Beast or  a Woman or Waters or Earth and so on.In this way we can start slowly discern the wonderful truth that is covered from such a dirt and lies from those that they profess to be follorws of Christ!!
The book of Revelation has to be studied toghter with the book of Daniel.It is End time Prophecy in both books were The Almighty God reveals the Future of Mankind.
That's way I beg you,read more prayfully the Bibleso that you could be wise,believe it so that you could be in safety,and put it in practice so that you could be holy.
The Bible reveals the Mind of God,the state of man,the way to the salvation the doom of the sinners and the hapinness of the believers.
The issue of the Number of the beast is a compicated one,but it could be so easily understood whed someone put in practice his will to go further.It's my pray and hope that each one of you,will go back to the Word of God to find guindance and enlightment ,to convict him for it's truths and to help him to live it's principles.
